Welcome to The Guess App! These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the rules you agree to follow when you use our mobile app, "The Guess App" ("App"). The Guess App ("us," "we," or "our") owns and operates the App. By using the App, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. Who Can Use the App

  • You must be at least 17 years old to use the App. If you're under 17, you may not use it, even with permission.
  • You need an account to access most features. Sign in with your Google or Apple ID. Keep your login credentials secure—we're not responsible if someone else uses them.

2. What You Can Do

  • Upload: Upload one image of yourself for your profile and select your country. Optionally, add a cultural fun fact.
  • Guess: Swipe to guess the country of origin for other users' images, choosing from four options per image. There is an 'Other' option where you can choose more countries.
  • Earn Points: Correct guesses earn you between 6 and 12 points, based on the difficulty of the image (e.g., less-guessed images might be worth more). Lose 1 point for every 1 wrong guesses (your score won't drop below 0).
  • Check Rankings: View your total points, global rank, and country rank in the App.
  • Flag Images: Report images that are inappropriate or don't follow the rules.
  • Premium Features: Pay to unlock detailed stats about guesses on your uploaded image (like full country breakdowns). You can also upload 3 extra images.

3. Rules for Using the App

  • Your Content:

    You may only upload images that you own or have full permission to use. By uploading content, you confirm that you have all necessary rights and permissions.

    You are solely responsible for any content you upload, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Guess App from any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from your content.

    We reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion without notice if we believe it violates these Terms, infringes on someone else's rights, or is otherwise inappropriate.

  • Behavior: Don't cheat, hack, or tamper with the App. Don't harass others or misuse the flag feature.
  • Guessing: You won't guess the same image twice—we track what you've seen.
  • Payments: If you purchase premium features, you agree to pay through our payment provider, RevenueCat. Payments are final unless otherwise stated.

4. Our Rights

  • Content Ownership: You retain ownership of your uploaded images and fun facts, but you grant us permission to display them in the App for guessing.
  • App Ownership: We own the App, its design, and its code. You are granted a limited license to use the App under these Terms.
  • Changes: We may update the App or these Terms at any time. We'll notify you of significant changes (for example, via email or in-app notices). Continuing to use the App means you accept the updated Terms.
  • Banning: We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, cheat, or upload inappropriate content. We may do this without prior warning.

5. Scoring and Leaderboards

  • Your points update after each guess. Rankings are based on your total points globally and within your selected country.
  • We reserve the right to adjust scores or remove users from leaderboards if cheating or errors are detected.

6. Flagging Images

  • If you flag an image, our team will review it. Images that receive enough flags (e.g., 5 or more) may be taken offline for review and removed if they violate the rules.
  • Misusing the flagging system may result in limits on your ability to flag.

7. Pre-Login Experience

  • Before signing in, you can guess up to 3 images and view the result. Guesses are saved and applied to your account for new users once you sign up.

8. Premium Data

  • Free stats for your uploaded image include total guesses and a partial country breakdown.
  • Premium data unlocks full details like complete country lists and guesser locations. Pricing is shown in the App (for example, $10.99 one-time or $3.99/week).

9. Privacy

  • We collect information like your login ID, uploaded image, country, guesses, and points. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle and protect your information.

10. Limits on Responsibility

  • We provide the App "as is." We're not responsible for crashes, lost data, or performance issues.
  • We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, except as required by law.

11. Ending Your Use

  • You can stop using the App anytime by deleting it from your device.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access at our discretion if you violate these Terms or if the App is discontinued. We'll attempt to notify you if possible.
